60 EAN D Double dropbox reader

REF: 13045100

The PRX D Double Dropbox is a special reader designed to recover visitors’ cards when they leave the premises, thus preventing visitors from taking the cards away with them. Unlike the single Dropbox, the double Dropbox has two readers, one inside the Dropbox to recover visitors’ cards, and another on the surface for employees’ cards, which do not have to be recovered, so that employees don't need to insert the card into the dropbox.

This reader combines mechanical and electronic elements for the recovery of the card by gravity. This reader must be installed at an angle of at least 70º for the cards to drop correctly.

It is usually installed at the turnstile exit and the recovered cards can be collected from the inside of the turnstile at the end of the day.

The PRX D double Dropbox card reader has two DESFire® 13.56 MHz card readers, (one for the visits' Dropbox and one for the employees’) with read/write capability that allows the use of DESFire® memory –encrypted using 128bit AES or 3DES– to store the serial number of the card, avoiding the use of the CSN on the card, which is neither protected nor secure.

The read / write capability, the PRX Double Dropbox reader also enables the use of DOC SYNC ™ technology to integrate stand-alone equipment.

The communication between the reader and the controller is protected by a 128bit AES encryption. This encryption avoids the monitoring of communications between the two.
