D Card dropbox
The PRX D Dropbox is a special reader designed to recover visitors’ cards when they leave the premises, thus preventing visitors from taking the cards away with them.
This reader combines mechanical and electronic elements for the recovery of the card by gravity. This reader must be installed at an angle of at least 70º for the cards to drop correctly.
It is usually installed at the turnstile exit and the recovered cards can be collected from the inside of the turnstile at the end of the day.
The PRX D Dropbox card reader includes a 13.56 MHz DESFire® card reader with read/write capability that allows the use of DESFire® memory –encrypted using 128bit AES or 3DES– to store the serial number of the card, avoiding the use of the CSN on the card, which is neither protected nor secure.
Thanks also to the read/write capability, the PRX D dropbox reader also allows the use of the DOC SYNC™ technology for the integration of stand-alone equipment.
The communication between the reader and the controller is protected by 128bit AES encryption. This encryption avoids the monitoring of communications between the two.
